International Buddhist Conference in Nepal
2,000 Buddhist monks along with represents from twenty-three counties are participating the International Buddhist conference that Nepal is organizing in the pretext of 2,560th Buddha Jayanti. Tourism ministers for Sri Lankan and Thailand are attending the conference. Similarly 26 member team from China led by vice-president of the Chinese Buddhist association is attending the conference. Indian delegates are likely to attend the conference as well. The International Buddhist conference will be held on May 19 and 20 in Kathmandu. On May 21, massive Buddha Jayanti program to let the world know that Buddhist philosophy originated in Lumbini. On the first day of the conference, Buddha related films and cultural programs will be organized at Soaltee Hotel. The organizers plan to discuss about developing an international Buddhist circuit with Lumbini at the center. Government is providing free and on arrival visas to guests attending the conference.
The conference is supposed to highlight Lumbini as birthplace of Buddha and Nepal as the land of the origin of Buddhist philosophy. Nepal is not only a historical place of Buddhism but also the land from where, all the three Buddhist sects originated.
